JOURNEY & PHOTOPHILOSOPHY

Born and raised in Italy, where I graduated in Architecture with a master degree in Landscape Architecture, I now live in London since 2012.

My street photography affair, 3 years old, began after a period of self reflection (also known as middle age crisis). Admittedly, I ignored at first  that street photography was even a thing.

“The Street Photographer’s Manual” by David Gibson nicely broke the news. I started checking out late and alive photographers, magnetised  by the unposed. I then booked my most valuable workshop through Magnum, under the guidance of Richard Kalvar, whose witty, odd and unbanal scenes I greatly regards.

Extra-ordinarities are the 'Things' that catches my attention. Even better if somehow connected to the 'outer space', a subject that I found the most interesting. A theme around which I created my first exhibition called  Intraterrestrial_Nearly home this past November.

I like to make the reader wonder, I enjoy witnessing reality taking on an 'Ohio' twist, the physical matter becoming abstraction and vice versa.

A dark aura, the result of an early life spent with a depressed mum, appears now and then in my work. To reclaim my childhood, I don't take a single thing for known. A blissful amnesia allowing me to relearn the simplest thing, every day, starting anew. The resulting sense of wonder and humor are my cure.

I try to stay away from a 'style', yet another social structure which will eventually restrict me in a zone of comfort. 'Style', to me, equals to an anhilation of originality. â€‹

CREATION & POSTPRODUCTION

'The most important component of a camera is the eight inches behind it' A.Adams

My eyes, brain and heart are all sqeezed into the 28mm/35mm or 50mm lenses of my Fujifilm TX30II. Then polished off with Lightroom.

With an exception for commissioned works, my images are never set up.
